The use of ice packs for refrigerated transport of products
How can ice packs be optimally deployed to transport goods at the right temperature? Our customers ask us this question frequently.
Important is that the ice packs are completely frozen. Ice packs can be completely ready for the chilled transport of your products within one to three days. There is a difference between ice packs, which are delivered in boxes and in crates.
Crates have the advantage that they allow air to optimally pass through. The boxes De Ridder Packaging supplies for ice packs are also equipped with air holes. In a freezer, cold air is circulated. The better the air reaches the ice packs the faster they will freeze. Only when the ice pack is properly frozen, it is suitable for chilled transport of your goods.
If you urgently need ice packs and freezing you could speed up freezing a pallet of ice packs. In that case we advise you to break the content of the pallet or place the boxes in such a way that that cold air can reach the ice packs easier. They will freeze more quickly in this manner.
During the transport of your products, it is important that the ice pack is in an isolated area, such as an EPS box. In this manner your product remains optimally cooled.
